Shameka made me feel heard, valued, cared for and most importantly, seen. Talking to her made it feel like I was reconnecting with an old friend that was just trying to understand how best she could help me get out of the space that I'm in.

It gets a little hard sometimes having to create a home far away from home without a support system or people to hold you down but talking to her made me feel like I could do anything. Like I could survive. Like I could truly live and exist in whatever capacity that I'd like.
